not the beloved pharmacopoea
Halt, all who goes here. All is not the same. Appears to be published by Jones and Bartlett publishers, and I haven't gotten through it all, but there are some changes. My main recommendation is get one, see if it is satisfactory, and get others if you do. I usually get 3, because I can't depend on drug reps to bring them.
Today as I freshly cracked it, I went to look up ped antibiotic doses which have had a table I have long valued, and the table is moved. Not to worry, change happens. It is on page166-167, all doses are per TAB, and is difficult to follow across the 2 pages because they don't line up. This is a heavily used feature for me, and so I will put lines on the pages to try to make it work, but looks like a hassle. Also looks like it was changed to fit the printing process, not to function well.
Do not buy this!
This arrived with pages out of order & some pages missing. Apparently this was a bad print. Total waste of $13.
not as good
I'm an emergency room physician and I've gotten a new edition of this book every couple of years for quite sometime. I finally set aside my well worn falling apart 2006 edition and updated to the 2009. The 2009 edition is quite a bit bigger, in fact it won't fit in the pocket of my scrubs unless I rip out the seam that holds my pen. also i've already noticed some errors--- (pediatric liquid drug concentrations as mg/ tab ). I think i'll return it and try the 2008 edition instead, maybe it won't be as up to date but hopefully it will not contain errors.
